This trope sounds very similar to the trope Evil, Inc.. Should they be Incorporated?

I think this article needs to be rewritten, by someone who *isn't* a fairly obvious Capitalist. ;)

Indeed. Seriously, "some corporations engage in unethical practices or political influence"? Try virtually all. Even if they don't engage in any unethical practices, you can bet your a** that they have political influence (not that I necessarily blame them for that, though). That said, nearly all large corporations regularly engage in unethical practices of varying degrees and frequencies, and they all have political influence, often substantial influence. There's a reason that examples of this trope are, at best, somewhat benign. When a megacorporation owns you, your property, and does not answer to you or anyone you know, then you're living in a Crapsack World. Really, the more a Mega Corp. approaches "benevolence", the more it becomes a "government" instead of a "corporation". That's because governments, generally and ideally, hold the welfare of their people as top priority, while corporations are often legally obligated to hold maximizing profits/share price as their top priority. I mean, sure, a dictatorship where a single person rules with absolute authority might be benevolent, but that's rarely the case, and if that one person turns out to not be so benevolent, you really don't have a say in the matter—as opposed to more democratic systems.

The Mega Corp. that make the mutants in Prototype. I'll be damned if I can remember their name (haven't played it) but they fit the mega corp perfectly.

Anyone else here think that the Weyland-Yutani logo would make for a good page image?

TriOptimum ads, maybe? There was something on "how cool we are", IIRC.

These could be great ideas or terrible ones. I don't really know since I don't know what the images you're describing look like.
