I am not sure if these examples count, so I am putting them here instead:
- On Discworld, if you try to read a too powerful magical book, it may start reading you. (This is what happend to an unfortunate mage who tried to read the Necrotelecomnicon - he was never seen again, and the book became a few pages thicker.)
