Does this apply to same-sex examples? What if two people of the same sex live together and become attracted to each other but their living situation is initially platonic?

"The main character lives platonically with the romantic interest."
That's pretty much a contradiction in terms. So what's the trope? The main character lives platonically with someone of the opposite sex, or they live platonically with someone before realising they're in love with them, or one of them thinks they're platonic flatmates and the other is in love? Or any of the above?
