How is this subjective?
My posts make considerably more sense read in the voice of John Ratzenberger. Hide / Show Replies

I don't think it's subjective at all. Maybe it got mistakenly lumped in with the subjectives because of the "Yay" in the name.

I agree. This one isn't subjective, since it rely on what happen within the story, and not on viewer reactions. "Two characters pretending to be gay for the sake of the plot" looks pretty objective to me.
Isnt Ayame bi/pan? It is true he did use flirting as a distraction. But I do not think interpreting him as straight makes sense (he goes for a girl in the end but he never actually says something like I like only women all along.) One could make the argument that 'bi people do not exist in works like those', but there turn oout to be surprising amount of lgbtq in shojo manga. Also, does it count as faux yay if Ayame is bi but his flirting has another motive? In this case he is not actually flirting because he likes Shigure that way but as a strategic distraction.
