No it wasn't, and it still needs fixed, but I'm hesitant to try and fix it only to have the change immediately reverted because it was 'uncalled for' despite being entirely reasonable in the spirit of presenting a neutral examination.
On Streets of Rage... I was under the impression that SEGA execs went out of their way to delay the legal action until after the remake was complete, not that SEGA intentionally shot it down. Can this be clarified?
'K, I thought I'd put this suggestion here first rather than on the main page right away because I'm not sure if it fits. There was a bit of a... kerfuffle in Blakes Seven fandom back in the day after Paul Darrow, who was closely involved with the shows fandom including fanfic (he even wrote one sort of), found out that friends of his were writing slash fiction. Some say he just told them to stop writing it, others say he told everyone to stop writing it (details are sketchy, it happened a long time ago). A massive, long overdue shitstorm that was only partially about the original issue ensued.
I'm not sure if it applies because as an actor in the show, rather than a writer, he really didn't have any sort of legal authority to tell anyone to stop writing fic as long as they didn't use his image. Still, his opinion still carried a certain unofficial level of weight or people wouldn't have gotten so bent out of shape about it.
Your thoughts?
(P.S., one of my sources is here on page 35, though there are other accounts you can find.)
Is the "scolding" tone of the first paragraph actually necessary? It just seems like you could get that information across without the page seeming like it's meant to be wielded as a weapon when the URL gets posted in someone's flame war.
