I don't know if Daisy from Mario has ever been this, but I know she's either been Ambiguously Brown or a Fiery Redhead, so why not both at once?

but when you look at human cartoon characters in animations or in static page images, there really do only seem to be three (caucasian) skin colours in the online palette: Pale, Medium and Dark. Doesn't this constrain the artists, especially when doing character design via computer programmes?
