- Asuka in Neon Genesis Evangelion became Aska in the Russian dub, as otherwise the name would read as "A-bitch".
- Likely not the case. First, "Aska" is an acceptable transliteration of the name, and dropping the weak "u" sounds isn't uncommon. Second, interpreting the name this way would require something beyond simple "dirty-mindedness". The "u" usually isn't even stressed, which is what would've made the described combination more obvious. There are a lot more other Japanese words that sound dirty when rendered in Cyrillic alphabet.
