Does it count as an aversion or subversion if the hero does something good, the police try to arrest him, and the hero (nonlethally) beats them up to avoid getting arrested and leaves, or does that count as a different trope?

I'd argue that's still played straight - the trope is about the police reacting negatively toward the hero's heroism, not whether the hero is cooperative.
