"Not to be confused with the common gripe that all of the anime examples on a trope page come first. (Seriously, guys, it's alphabetical. Let it go.)"
Yeah, but it could be Manga and Anime instead!
Rhymes with "Protracted."

We should differentiate this trope a bit. It is *not* anime first when the series was conceived as a francise spanning several different media from the start, and the anime merely happens to be the first thing released (on the other hand, it's also not an aversion/inversion if the manga happens to be the first thing released). Some of the examples also fall under spin-offs or prequels or are a loose enough adaption to more fall under one of the Adaption tropes instead of this one.
Really, this trope should be reworked entirely and renamed "Original Anime" or something like this, in order to properly tie in with pages like Manga or Light Novel, especially since this trope is nowadays more-or-less used as "This is a francise, and the first thing to come out was an anime"
