I've removed this bit as it's formatted wrong, conversation in the main page, etc. etc.

A pretty big example of Did Not Do the Research in itself, since by "selling into slavery" he would have had to have meant "7 years maximum of employment (not what we call slavery) to erase a debt" and never involved a person selling his children. The other examples, too, are, according to Christianity, limited to the Old Testament Jewish culture/covenant, whereas, homosexuality is mentioned as an "abomination" in the New Testament as well, where rules about diet and touching dead animals no longer apply. To the writers of the show (and the many, many others who use this exact critique) it may be an example of The End Justifies the Means.

As to the points mentioned...

The new testament condemns gratuitous sexing in general in the book of Paul and in fact pointedly does not use the most appropriate Greek word for homosexuality.

There is a passage in Romans dealing with it, but it can be (and has been) translated to mean that the relations were based on lust and not love and that was the problem.

As far as the commandments, didn't Jesus also state that "anyone who breaks the least of these commandments will be last in heaven"?

And if the real problem is what is said in the bible, then why do Christian Conservatives never condemn the hoarding of wealth as Jesus himself did? As Jesus is God, and therefore the words of his mouth trump anything contradictory, why isn't the outcry over bankers' bonuses even louder than that regarding homosexuality?

Here is the extent of Christian activity on the matter that I could find. [1].

The point stands
