A lot of the examples don't fit the definition of this trope. People are adding examples of actually dateless characters, apparently on the theory that they wouldn't have trouble getting a date in real life.
But that isn't the trope—the trope is that the character is frequently shown dating, while the dialogue repeatedly declares that he/she can't get a date. If the character genuinely struggles to get a date, that is not an example.
Hide / Show RepliesI agree, there needs to be a lot of clean-up on this page. This trope is about people who are described as being unable to meet romantic partners in spite of clear evidence to the contrary.
Cleaned out most of the bogus examples. There were quite a lot. Does this need a clearer description, or something?
Since Hollywood Homely and Hollywood Pudgy are now YMMV pages, should this page perhaps be a YMMV page too?
Hide / Show RepliesNo. Attractiveness is invariably subjective, while whether or not the writers are portraying a character as dateless compared to them actually getting dates isn't.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Moe doesn't belong here. I can think of only one pretty woman that dated him. (The one where Homer needs to steal his car.)
You mean there's actually a trope with no anime examples? On TV Tropes?!
