Does a character have to be a pro wrestler to qualify for this trope? Because several fictional examples have no relation to Professional Wrestling in any form.

Wonder Woman is a Western Culture in general hero. All the things that we think of as uniquely American symbols where used by the West in general going back to Ancient Greece, from that Color Scheme to the Eagle. It fits Wonder Woman, Ignoring the fact that in actual Greek mythology the Amazons aren't Greek but specifically Un-Western, the comics always ignored that though.
