"Is there a mysterious gigantic cavern hidden just beneath the earth's surface, wherein aliens once upon a time created all life on earth?" Now, I'm pretty sure that was Cardiff. Actually Aliens in Cardiff, and on Doctor Who as well. Ok, some place in the country just outside Cardiff. The Silurians. Homo-reptilia. Yep, that's that. This cavern was in The Hungry Earth/ Cold Blood, in Season 6.
Hide / Show RepliesNo, it was in a small village in the north of Wales. Plus, the Silurians did absolutely none of those things. Also, the Silurian two-parter was series 5.
Edited by OldManHoOhPotential removal at the end of the Live Action TV category:
- Less obvious to the general public than other examples but Stargate Command is in Cheyenne Mountain, near Colorado Springs, Colorado. While alien incursions and weird happenings don't (usually) occur on surface level there, it is still pretty amusing that the center of Earth's galactic exploring and hub of the galaxy's protection is in Colorado, of all places.
I added a "justifying edit" underneath to point out why this case averts the trope; both parts might need to be deleted, or else perhaps combined.

I am not familiar with most of these works, but quite a few seem, after some googling, refer to fictional places, which would be another trope. This page probably needs a major cleanup in that regard.
