I'm not so sure on the Yu-Gi-Oh! example. The description says that the characters do get that "Golden Duel Armor" and it's revealed what it does. Unless it's never used, that is not a MacGuffin.
I can't find anything about this item, so somebody who knows more about the series, please either remove that entry or add that the item is never used.
