I'm just going to remove the "Aborted Arc" example since (as per the comment I added in the second bullet point below) it's not actually an example of an aborted arc. The question was resolved, not forgotten about. It's raised in The Wilderness Years and continues through The Cappuccino Years, in which it is resolved.
Aborted Arc: The Wilderness Years raises the possibility that Glenn's real father might be someone other than Adrian (quite possibly Barry Kent.) Later books never raise this issue again and from The Cappuccino Years on Glenn is permanently a big part of Adrian's life.
Although this is less "aborted" than "resolved" since towards the end of The Cappuccino Years, Adrian and Barry take paternity tests that show conclusively that Adrian is Glenn's father.
