I don't see the problem. "explaining the references of jokes" can indeed serve as Fridge Brilliance to people who don't get the references. "Generally be obvious" is Fan Myopia. I personally found many of the things here to be "clever hidden touches"
Ordinarily I don't like seeing pages emptied of examples, but this page really, REALLY deserves a clean up. Half of these are just people explaining the references or jokes, which isn't the point of Fridge Brilliance. These aren't clever, hidden touches, they are moments and lines that should generally be obvious.
Why Michelangelo was referred to as 'my man on the ceiling' should not be mentioned here, for example.
