Not sure on Attempted Rape. I wouldn't argue that he wasn't being a total jerk when she said no, however he did not have his pants down, and I don't think even that jerk was so stupid as to rape a girl on stage in front of an audience. He was going for Enforced Method Acting.

I added a bit under Alternate Character Interpretation on the YMMV page indicating that there is a real split in people's interpretations of Mike trying to have sex with Leslie onstage.

Are these references to 'relatively new technology' a thing? (Photos attached to tweets, view counters on You Tube videos, quick reactions of social media (that's already covered by 'Instant Humiliation: Just Add You Tube!'), poor quality of parts of social media (the interviewer referred to a rumor originating from a single tweet, could perhaps count as 'Strawman News Media').)

I wanted to add 'Tis Only a Bullet in the Brain. However, I am not exactly sure about where the bullet actually went. In the theatre it looked like he hit the temple straight. In the hospital it looked like he only shot his nose. What is your take on what exactly happened?

Well, "a bullet to the brain" is not exactly what the trope is about. I would think no.
