I just wondering about the crossover section, and its only two entries. Do One Piece crossover really suck that badly or are not looking hard enough?
NCR Rangers Led the Way Hide / Show RepliesThis is a small page in general. Either the wiki hasn't been paying much attention to One Piece fanfic, or there's a relative lack of it out there.
What's precedent ever done for us?It's not only crossover. Is there so few good One Piece fic ? YMMV, some fics in recs page aren't even that good.
I've seen various R Ps and whatnot suggested for other series, and I'm part of an up-and-coming RP site based on One Piece, which is basically "keep the setting, remove all characters from the story (if they appear, it may or may not be how they are in canon), and let the participants set off on their own adventures". But this fanfic rec page doesn't have an RP section; do I just put it under General Fanfics?
Hide / Show RepliesR Ps are generally welcome, but not if you're participating. See the rules about self-recommendations on the main Fan Fic Recommendations page.
For the record, an RP would probably go under 'Authors and Sites'.
Edited by Iaculus What's precedent ever done for us?I'm planning to upgrade this rec page to the new Fan Fic Recommendations format, which will make use of the reviews feature instead of tacking on additions on to the "comments" section. This should clean up the format of the page.
To ensure that the contents of the existing "comments" aren't lost, I am planning to repost them but properly attributed to the original poster, as the first "review" in the new reviews section of each fic.
Anyone with objections to this?
Hide / Show RepliesOkay I've added the review sections. I'm probably going to wait one month for the original commenters to move their reviews, after April, I will probably move them myself. Hopefully everyone is ok with this.
I'd like to bring in to questioning the recommendation of the story Genderly Challenged. Is something so painfully sexist and disrespectful to characterization really something we want to recommend?
Hide / Show RepliesIf someone other than the author themselves has recommended it, then it should stay in, since this is Fanfic Recommendations, not Fanfic Rankings. But there's no reason why another troper can't add a note to the story with a YMMV on why they disagree with the recommendation, since a counter POV is useful to potential readers also.
I suggest we should make a separate folder for Self-Insert fic recs, given their popularity.
