Trying to work out why one of mine was deleted without explanation.... it wasn't porn, it confirmed to the template, and even if it was for one of my own stories, well, I was going by the stated rule that says Feel free to add a fanfic of your own to the list, but remember to use the template found here. Have restored it to the list. Perhaps the person who deleted can get in touch and explain their reasons? If they're good ones, I'll go with them, but right now cannot see exactly WHY.

There is a degree of self-contradiction present: on the one hand you are positively ENCOURAGED to reccomend your own work so long as it doesn't break the rules - Feel free to add a fanfic of your own to the list, but remember to use the template found here.

Yet on the main Fanfic page the absolute opposite is stipulated - "no self-reccomendations, please".

This could do with a ruling from on high.

Check the Fan Fic Recommendations page. Specifically, the bit about no self-recommendations.

I don't see anything on this page or the main one that encourages self-recs, and they go rather against the spirit of the namespace anyway. This is for letting readers find good fanfics, not letting writers advertise their work.

So why does it say on at least one page the contradictory "Feel free to add a fanfic of your own to the list, but remember to use the template found here." ?

Because this is a huge wiki without enough people doing quality-control.
