I don't want to be rude, but the entry of Witcher 2, 3 and Dragon Age 2 and Inquisition seems to be written by a DA fanboy. Both CDP Red games in question received a lot better scores and praise than Bioware's games (which is evidenced by Metacritic and various awards (in the 2's case; the Wild Hunt still needs to wait till the end of the year, while some reviews pointed it out to be a serious GOTY contender)).
Hide / Show RepliesIf there's too much bias, feel free to rewrite that part. The point of this page is to explain objectively how each game fared (in the past, I had to remove some examples where "neither" side won and they were put here only for the sake of casually saying both were bad.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300I tried rewriting that part myself, but it just got "restored" to the fanboy version immediately afterwards. I really don't want to get into an editing war, but I have to agree that the version on the page is unfairly biased, not to mention blatantly wrong. (Dragon Age II and Inquisition being more acclaimed than The Witcher 2 and 3.)
Champions online closed?
Well, the comparison of City of Heroes and CO says "Sadly, a year or so later Champions closed as well."
If we go by the news site of CO it's pretty alive though.
Edited by MirileneHi guys,
Just wanna point out how odd it is that we have Dance Central and Dance Masters being put up there, but Just Dance is missing. I'd love to put it up, but I gotta pull out sales figures first which can be a bit daunting (help). If you can help, please do. Thanks.
someone please add Mech Warrior Online and Hawken, both being free to play (pay to win), MO Mecha Shooters that are both still in open beta. i can't get the formatting to work.
Hide / Show Repliesalso, what about Naughty Dog and Insomniac Games? they've kept up this trope (ok, not really a trope) for over a decade spanning four franchises, and not a word of it is said here.
The Legend Of Zelda Phantom Hourglass vs. Sonic Rush Adventure? Really? This is an extremely tenuous connection. They're not even the same genre...
Moon◊Once they're both out, I say we add Skyward Sword vs. Skyrim. Everyone on Game FA Qs wants to compare them since they both have 'sky' in the title and are coming out near the same time.
"AXEL ON STAAAAGE!"Could someone please add Left 4 Dead (or was it L 4 D 2?) VS Dead Rising (2?)?
Edited by Maxaxle I have a signature!?The Deadly Premonition/Heavy Rain Winner section is a joke, right? A quick search returned that Heavy Rain sold over a million copies in 10 weeks, while Deadly Premonition sold about 60K. Critically, Heavy Rain recieved scores in the 90's range, while DP averaged out around a 70. Unless I'm really missing something here, the current description is some sort of running gag, which should probably be constrained to its own page, rather than one where those unaware of the joke will be misinformed.
Should the Mario Wii vs Sonic entry really declare that Sonic 4 will sell well? At the moment that's just a guess, and seems little more then an unnecessary jab at the fans who weren't pleased by it. If this is counted as dueling games then the 'winner' is at this point unknown,as is how good or badly Sonic 4 will do.*
- (I think we agree that sales wise NSMBW has done quite well.)
Do Mario series vs Sonic series count or are they too different?
Hide / Show RepliesSonic was intentionally developed as "the Anti-Mario", and was being made when Mario 3 (at that point was in the top five or so best-selling games ever) had just been released, so they likely qualify.
Edited by donAnyone object to removing the TF 2 vs Spy Vs Spy entry? It's really farfetched.
Edited by Glowsquid Hide / Show RepliesHell, I'm going to kill both of the TF 2 entries.
I kill threads and commit sodomy.
Recently I saw that Cuphead had a similar competitor titled, Enchanted Portals which used the same concept Cuphead has. Does it count?
