Re: Expy's of FNAF. There's no indication in the movie that he invented these animatronics. Also, Willy's Wonderland doesn't appear to be a pizza place. They talk about, and show, the kids eating hot dogs instead. It isn't until the third game that the player faces an animatronic possessed by a serial killer, as every other animatronic in the series is either programmed to be homicidal, or is possessed by the killers' victims. If anything, the Willy's Wonderland bunch are closer to Child's Play's Chucky the killer doll.
It also doesn't work well for Liv, who isn't investigating the restaurant because she already knows from first-hand experience what goes on there. Further, drawing a similarity between her parents being murdered by the animatronics and a book character's dad committing suicide is stretching things.
The Janitor also clearly isn't an expy of anyone from the series. He's not a real employee, and he fights back against the animatronics unlike any protagonist from Five Nights at Freddy's. The similarities appear to begin and end with them being silent protagonists who aren't made aware beforehand that the situation they're going into is dangerous.
