I might not even add most of the Silmeria einherjar if they're basically only All There in the Manual characters. Einherjar is already a pretty long category, so if a substantial number end up being added it might be worth separating them out, if not based on game, based on something else.
Pacta sunt servanda, bitch!Yeah, of all the Einherjar, there's only one who has any significance or role at all in the storyline, and that's because he's really Brahms in disguise. All the others might as well be Pokemon for all the importance they have.
So, I just went and tried to clean up the in-article argument about the Lezard/Harry Potter resemblances.
There's a reference to Word of God and I'd like to know if anyone actually has a cite on that, because I'd never heard it. I left it in for now, but I'm really curious. Also, I don't recall the Chamber of Secrets reference either. Where is this notation from?
Note I'm not trying to continue the argument and I don't really have a horse in the race, I just want to know what of this is substantiated and what is just wanking.
Pacta sunt servanda, bitch! Hide / Show RepliesI'm the one who added the Word of God. To be honest, I remember seeing it years ago, but I can't for the life of me remember where or who supposedly said it. I remember it being in reference to people Dracoing him, as in, "People keep seeing him as sympathetic even though he's supposed to be Harry Potter Gone Horribly Wrong."
Actually, come to think of it, it might've been something on this wiki rather than actual Word of God.
Okay, I think I found it. Quoth Misaimed Fandom:
- Lezard Valeth from Valkyrie Profile was written to be as repulsive as possible, a sexually deviant stalker and violator of natural laws; like Harry Potter grown up terribly, terribly wrong.
So I guess in my mind I kinda mashed the two parts of that sentence which, on reflection, doesn't necessarily say that was the authorial intent.
Of course, he does sorta look like that Potter kid, and there is the whole bit with the Philosopher's Stone.
Edited by MrDeathFair enough. Thanks for clearing that up. I find the whole argument really irritating, but that's no reason not to include it. I think it's as well-explained and evenhanded as possible without taking over the section.

Does anyone else think it'd be a good idea to separate the Einherjar by game? I only suggest it because there's something of a disconnect between the ones in the first game, who are fully fleshed out characters whose recruitment makes up the bulk of the game, and the ones in the second, who are more or less interchangeable and whose backstories are all in footnote form.
