Can we like... move Strawman Political back to YMMV? Brent's book fucking sucks because it's an emblem of his monstrously oppressive sense of privilege and entitlement. That's the context to it; there's a long and colorful history of wealthy white males doing this, so it's not casual. He's clearly meant to represent so much more in terms of misogyny and racism. But, fine, some tropers are sympathetic to him than the narrative intends. Fine. Doesn't mean it fails to hold up in the actual series.
