About the "Vitriolistic Best Buds" with Poe, they only argue once during The Rise of Skywalker, and that is their only argument in all of the books and comics (and movie) they appear in. There is banter, yes, but no vitriol.

Three tropes I think should be deleted and why:

Age-Gap Romance: Does not meet the definition since they are not in a romantic relationship, per the trope's general rule they do not have a 'big' age difference (20 for Rey and 30 for Kylo), and their age difference is never noted in-universe so it never factors into their interactions or anyone else's view of them.

Slap-Slap-Kiss: Exactly What It Says On the Tin trope and this does not meet it; there is no kiss following their last duel. Rey's words also didn't indicate wanting a romantic interaction in that moment or in the future; she said "I did want to take your hand. Ben's hand." and then she left.

Star-Crossed Lovers: Does this trope require that the characters are lovers at some point or pursuing a romance that keeps getting thwarted? When I look at the other examples, Rey and Kylo don't fit with them.

Composite Character, if I understand correctly, is about combining characters into one composite of their traits for adaptation purposes. Rey doesn't fit that, but she does have traits in common with prior characters. I don't know what the right trope is for that and I don't want to just delete it.

Noting that in the large edit I just did, some stuff inadvertently got deleted (other stuff was intentional) and that wasn't apparent to me until I could see the edit history highlighting those things. Perils of working from a sandbox and a Google Doc over many months. I'll get them restored soon.

Covered in Star Wars Cleanup, Deadpool, and Web Video sand. I'm not coarse and rough, but I get everywhere.

Currently, the page has Abusive Parents as one of her tropes regarding her biological parents. I am not sure this is the correct trope for her situation as of TROS, though I think it does fit for what she believed in TLJ.

This might be real world thinking bleeding in! But basically, these are parents intentionally leaving their child behind without making proper arrangements for the safe care of their child, yet thinking they are doing right by their child. That would be more a case of Parental Neglect or Parental Abandonment IMO. Neglect is more about poor judgment or ignorance rather than intent to harm or apathy about causing harm. Neglect when leaving a child behind can be because of something like really bad character judgement of caretakers yet genuinely believing the child would be okay/better off. Parental abuse in abandonment is more like deliberately leaving that child unprotected or having callous disregard for the child's safety. Then again, they did intentionally leave her by selling her to someone rather than choosing someone they could trust, and the trauma she experienced because of this abandonment can't be overlooked.

For troping purposes, I'm not sure where the threshold is. What do other people think?

I cleared up the page, the only trope that applies is Parental Neglect. The rest were shoehorned.
