Are we giving Alduin a bit more credit than he's due as describing ambiguity of his character? All his dialogue points at him just being a self-righteous Jerkass who feels he has the right to do whatever he pleases and his only real motive being that he's evil.

Do player housecarls really belong in "Main Characters"? The only plot relevance of any of them to the Main Quest is Lydia, and that's only tangential because she comes as part of the perks of being declared Thane of Whiterun after you fell Mirmulnir. Beyond that, they've no special quests involved with them.

Players tend to get attached to the followers. There's going to be a big argument about not deleting Lydia, if Lydia stays the others have to stay, and just deleting all of them. Let's just avoid the Flame War and Edit War by letting the Housecarls stay.

I'm not saying to delete them... just that they don't really belong in Main Chars since only one of them has even a tangential relation to the MQ. They're all also pretty much cookie-cutters of each other; same gear, same lines.

Alvor and Gerdur have more relevance as they're Mr./Mrs. Exposition, but aren't here.
