Why are we still referring to them as villains? Their goal of returning light to their world includes preventing Alola from losing its own light, they cut ties with Lusamine when she recklessly goes after Necrozma herself, their battles with the player are more of a rivalry with anything (and they come across as friendlier than Gladion), and they're the ones who eventually help the player reach Ultra Megalopolis to stop Necrozma.
