Even the Ashen Wolves aren't safe from my big sweeping edits.

I removed quotation marks around "those who slither in the dark" because that is a description, not a name.

Tropes I removed

Yuri

  • Gender-Blender Name: Downplayed. Yuri is traditionally a girl's name in Japan (though it is sometimes used for boys), but a boy's name in Slavic countries.

Yuri isn't Japanese. Or from a country based on Japan. And Yuri is a boys' name, the Slavic form of George. What does this have to do with anything?

  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: Unlike the three lords, Yuri can be recruited by Byleth alongside the rest of his house. This makes a bit of sense when you realize that Yuri doesn't actually come from a noble or royal family and was adopted.

That's not a combat mechanic. And the Ashen Wolves aren't a real house.

This trope doesn't apply across continuities.

Balthus

  • Real Men Wear Pink: Though he is very macho, Balthus is one of two male characters who can learn Seraphim (Sylvain being the other).

Summoning angels to obliterate one's enemies isn't a feminine hobby or trait.

Constance

  • Ambiguous Disorder: Her quirk of being a borderline Shrinking Violet in the sun implies she suffers something, but the game doesn't go into it much beyond suggesting that its related to her traumatic past, which likely occurred in broad daylight. The Japanese version goes into a bit more detail where her support with Mercedes reveals that she thinks of her daylight persona as a completely different person and she even goes so far as to call them sisters. This implies she does have dissociative personality disorder but that Fódlan isn't advanced enough in mental health issues to know what it means.

There's nothing ambiguous here. Constance explicitly has multiple personality disorder.

Does anybody have high-quality pictures for the Ashen Wolves post-timeskip portraits? The ones I found on the Fire Emblem wiki aren't really high quality enough.

Nothing's confirmed yet but I hear Erica Lindbeck as Constance, and maybe Michael Sinterklaas as Yuri.

We'll find out in a few weeks, those are just my guesses.

Append: Never mind, wrong on both accounts. Kirsten Day is Constance, and Alejandro Saab is Yuri.
