I was looking back at the Dark Lord's entry and it's gotten much bigger than all the rest, getting to the point where even the "In General" entry is smaller. Does this warrant him getting his own page?

And if he does get his own page, should we also just unmark all the spoilers as he's a Walking Spoiler?

That being said, I have no source. Hide / Show Replies

I'm in favor of giving him his own page, with a link warning of spoilers inside the collapse on this one.

So, has anyone else noticed that the Demonic Troopers seem to have been buffed at some point? In my latest playthrough I noticed that they now seem to be able to take as much damage as Fodder demons and no longer gib hilariously from the slightest scratch. I could even Flame Belch them properly now, too. A lot of their entry on this page revolved around how laughably weak they were, so should we maybe rewrite it acknowledge the changes?

There is one thing I notice. This trope page seems to conclude the Dark Lord's death causes Hell energy across the multiverse to cease to exist... isn't it a premature conclusion? Which detail specifically supports this?

During Davoth's death sequence, the only demons shown disintegrating are demons shown on Earth, Urdak's ruins, and within a prison among the Sentinels's world.

All of this is in accordance to what's said earlier; without Davoth, Jekkad/Hell's connection to the rest of the multiverse is severed.

But what part suggests Davoth's death also causes ALL Hell energy to cease existing? Shouldn't they continue to exist within Jekkad?

The Slayer's Post-Victory Collapse while still inside Jekkad is not a conclusive evidence that all Hell energy (and Argent energy by extension) ceases to exist. It is possible the fact the Slayer carries a fragment of Davoth instilled upon him theough the Divinity Machine gives a degree of Synchronization so Davoth's death also affects Slayer to an extent. In other words, this should fall under Ambiguous Situation.

If there is any detail which does suggest or confirm Hell energy simply disappears from existence inside of Jekkad as well with Davoth's death which I missed, please do tell me. I am happy to be corrected.

But if not, I will also edit both this page and the Slayer's page accordingly, because as far as I can tell it is still ambiguous if Hell essence and Argent Energy has ceased to exist completely inside of Jekkad (outside of it though, it's very much certain).

Agreed. Given its (somewhat) non-living properties, Argent Energy could still very well be a thing in the Doom multiverse and beyond Hell itself. Assuming that Samur (as Samuel Hayden prior to reassuming his Maykr identity) was unable to complete his synthetic Argent Energy project, whatever UAC/ARC personnel remaining could very well use this as an excuse to re-enter Hell to further that very research (potentially leading to a repeat of what happened in 2016).

And yeah, given that the final phases of the battle take place in Ingmore's Sanctum, the Dark Lord's death might not have caused the essence instilled into Doomguy to completely up and leave, but rather remain dormant of sorts. Heck, that could potentially be used as a future plot point, with Davoth living on inside the Slayer himself.

I'd also like to inquire about where it say's that Davoth's death permanently prevents demons from setting foot beyond Hell full-stop? There are already numerous portals in Human, Sentinel, Hellish and Maykr custody that could potentially still be used to chart a course to the Hellish dimension. Heck, Davoth's death killing all demons outside of Hell could potentially be a one-off; Demons that are already inside Hell could very well begin pouring out again if given the means to do so.

And if Davoth's death truly does seal off Hell from the multiverse and causes any demons that attempt an invasion to disintegrate on the spot, what's to say that another being of equal or greater power couldn't rise to assume the Dark Lord mantle and reopen the gates of Hell? Definitely betting on a Motherdemon-tier entity or any of the teased-at Hellish underlords to do so.

At the end of the day, it's all baseless speculation that jumps to conclusions vs. baseless speculation that jumps to conclusions. I support the notion of putting such stuff regarding the ending, the fate of the Slayer/Multiverse post-Dark Lord demise and whatnot under the bracket of Ambiguous Situation until further developments/revelations are presented.

So given the revelations that the Dark Lord manipulated the Kahn Makyr and orchestrated her death, I'm wondering if the Big "NO!" he gives after her death is a Plot Hole worth talking about ?

Perhaps.

Before TAG Part 1 was released, the subtitles for the Big "NO!" were only credited as "Mysterious Voice", which was then changed to "Dark Lord" when TAG Part 1 released.

TAG Part 2 has now changed this subtitle back to crediting "Mysterious Voice". It could have been an attempt to better mask the reveal at the end of TAG Part 1, though I feel this is more a case of drastic rewrites taking place during TAG 2s development necessitating the change in who that voiceline is attributed to.

So, I was just wondering if it's really necessary for the Arachnotron entry to have spoiler tags for the parts that mention that they're created from the Spider Mastermind's DNA? It's not really a major plot point or big reveal, it's just part of their Codex page that has no bearing on the plot.

I agree. The only thing that is 'spoiling' here, is the fact that the Spider Mastermind exists in the 2016 game.

I'm tempted to call that a Late-Arrival Spoiler at this point if the codex in Eternal names it.

That's the thing that confuses me, though. It's not the Spider Mastermind's existence that's considered the spoiler as she's is openly mentioned multiple times in the Arachnotron's entry on the page. It's only specifically the parts that mention the Arachnotrons being clones of her that are tagged as spoilers for some reason. If there's no objections in the next few days, I think I'll change it.
