Nyarlathotep (commonly pronounced NYAR-LATH-OH-TEP, less commonly NEE-YAR-AH-LAT-HO-TEP) is one of three Outer Gods from the Cthulhu Mythos (the other two being Yog-Sothoth and Azathoth). Commonly known as 'The Crawling Chaos'and 'The Thousand Formed Messenger', it is perhaps H.P. Lovecraft's only actively malicious entity, seeing the rest are either mindless or amoral or created by someone else.
Some argue Nyarlthotep is infact every single sufficiently intelligent villain ever, which would make everything and everyone, from Wuthering Heights to The Bible, from Hellraiser to The Great Escape, from Caligula to Hitler, absolutely terrifying.
Of course, it could be believed that Nyarlathotep is in fact nothing more than a troll of cosmic proportions.
Nyarlathotep as a name appears in countless forms of media from anime to films to comic books.
