What Happened to the Mouse?:

  • Tier Harribel was last seen imprisoned in the Silbern, the Vandenreich's headquarters, having been taken hostage to ensure the compliance of the Arrancar. Due to the manga's cancellation and swift ending, her fate remains unknown.
  • The epilogue only shows us the fates of the main cast, the Captains and their lieutenants, and Yhwach. The fates of characters like Urahara, Yoruichi, and the Arrancar, who were last seen in very dire and possibly fatal situations, Komamura, who's left as a seemingly non-sapient dog, and the quincy and hollow halves of Zangetsu, who were absorbed by Yhwach, aren't explained.

The second entry is borderline Zero Context Example and lists characters that cannot be referred to as Mouse characters anyway. They've had direct relevance to different parts of the storyline and/or main characters (Urahara has been the major plot mover throughout the entire story and Yoruichi one of his most important tools (she taught the main character how to achieve Bankai), none of the captains (including Komamura) can classify as Mice, and the quincy and hollow de-power isn't relevant at all given that Ichigo had an entire chapter to say goodbye to his inner spirits long before, and so it was just a brief de-power during the final battle that is one of the many things the cancellation didn't give us a chance to see explained).

The same is true for Harribel. As an Arrancar, she was one of the core villain Arrancar during the Arrancar Arc (such as being used as the means to explore Hitsugaya's powers and contributing to the set-up of future reveals about Ichigo's powers). She was kidnapped at the beginning of the final arc to ensure compliance of the Arrancar, but was never seen again. There's no indication that Kubo ever planned to drop her given the build up he originally started to do with her three followers starting to unite forces with Ichigo's friends and Urahara, and the fact he said in interviews that his plan was to resolve every dangling thread by the end of the manga. However, we do know the manga was cancelled leaving Kubo with no time to even finish the Big Bad final battle properly, let alone address all the dangling plot threads he had left.

It would be an assumption that Kubo deliberately dropped these characters from the storyline (which is what tropes like Mouse and Chuk Cunningham need) that ignores that we actually know that he has an established tradition of Out of Focus (due to Loads And Loads Of Characters), when we know from interviews that his plan was to tie up all dangling plot threads from the entire, and when we know that the manga was so abruptly cancelled even the final Big Bad battle was cut short and the main characters' fates glossed over.

Mouse is a shoehorn; the trope we're dealing with here is Left Hanging.

Edited by Wyldchyld If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.
