Values Dissonance is at work here: How is that early Segar Sunday strip moment an example? Popeye just destroyed a private business, put the hot dog vendor out of work (preventing him from feeding his own family if he has one), and taught a kid a huge Broken Aesop that it's okay to mug people and ruin their livelihood if they're being jerks.
Yes, the vendor was a jerk, but Popeye ended up being the one committing at least two crimes there!
