As there is no evidence to say that the Creators did not intend the White Wolf to be his mother in the original film. The second movie, despite it's flais, is canon, as is the White Wolf being Balto's mother.
If no one tells me not too, I am going to Lazer this comment in one week.
They shouldn't, considering the white wolf being Balto's mother was an Ass Pull by the sequels' creators.
