I do not know about any discussion on it, either. Although I think that the "Typically a response takes the form of a single link to the trope page, with no explanation. " part needs to stay gone.

I have re-written the description to delete references to bold facing the trope name and made the part about not posting just the trope name a separate paragraph.
I also added information on what to do if the Original Poster doesn't respond.

Back on August 21st 2014 Westrim made a number of changes to the text without any discussion or mention of any official basis for the changes.
If these changes were just his personal opinion, I plan to revert some of them to what they were before.
