Several blatant errors were in AquamarineGavial\\\'s moment for \\\"Magic Duel\\\":

\\\'\\\'Trixie\\\'s \\\"redemption\\\" during the last few seconds of the episode officially marked, for me, where PanderingToTheBase not only interfered with the writing and subsequent quality of an episode, but made me dislike the \\\"redemption of bad guys\\\" thing that became prominent in this season (Babs Seed and Discord being other offenders). The ending is so blatantly pandering towards [[DracoInLeatherPants Trixie-fans]] that it\\\'s painful to watch.\\\'\\\'

There is zero credible evidence that the decision was based on pandering of any kind. A story where a simple prideful jerk from a past episode goes in over her head and gets corrupted would pretty naturally lead to a redemption and humbling at the end, especially on this kind of show.

\\\'\\\'This episode turned her from a discredited fraud into a revenge-seeking mini-tyrant and then said \\\"Not really; it was the amulet all along! She\\\'s actually a good guy.\\\"\\\'\\\'

The amulet being responsible for her becoming a tyrant was very obvious from literally the beginning, and the info that it was responsible came toward the middle of the episode, not at the very end. The entry acts as if this was a plot twist when it was not.

\\\'\\\'And then we\\\'re supposed to consider it consistent that five seconds of the character acting like an innocent bystander victim full of bluster would fit with one episode of her being a MilesGloriosus AlphaBitch who suddenly fled town when it became obvious she was a SmallNameBigEgo, and a second episode where she seeks revenge (for an upstaging she herself set up) in the face of warnings with an amulet that - for all the fuss over its MoreThanMindControl properties - essentially did what she wanted it to do to begin with.\\\'\\\'

Trixie did not at all act like an \\\"innocent bystander victim\\\", she admitted it was her fault for taking the amulet and asked for forgiveness. And how was Trixie ever an AlphaBitch? I do not think that trope means what this entry thinks it means.

\\\'\\\'Heck, she was still a sadist even after it was removed and the mind-control eyes went out, by attacking Rainbow Dash with a (weak) AgonyBeam.\\\'\\\'

The amulet\\\'s effects had to take a while after removal to fade, just as they gradually grew worse while it was on. \\\"Sadist\\\" means taking pleasure in pain, Trixie was just angry when shooting at Rainbow Dash with no hint of enjoyment. And AgonyBeam? Really?

\\\'\\\'The overall effect is of the writers trying to eat their cake and have it at the same time, and it\\\'s both transparent and insultingly stupid. That\\\'s not the only case of BadWriting in the show, but it\\\'s one of the worst.\\\'\\\'

[[SarcasmMode Oh no, a show called \\\"Friendship is Magic\\\" dares to have antagonists become repentant and be forgiven by the protagonists! Horrible writing!]] Beyond the factual errors, this blatant denial of what the show is solidifies why this entry makes no sense being on here.
