AMG was published in 1988. The first celibate hero harem is Ranma ½. It was published in 1987. The earliest harem manga was Urusei Yatsura (same creator: Rumiko Takahashi is the mother of the Japanese harem genre). It was started in 1978. The hero in that series wasn\'t celibate though.
