Is Selkie LovecraftLite?
Some certainly seem to think so, but I\\\'m not so sure. The way I read the LovecraftLite trope entry, LovecraftLite involves cosmic horror without the \\\"humans-are-worthless-insects\\\", and/or with some BigDamnHeroes that can [[DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu? punch out Cthulhu]]. Selkie seems to me like it doesn\\\'t fit either of these.
Some have mentioned the \\\"Doom That Came To Sarnath\\\"/Selkie\\\'s people being the sarnothi link, but I thought that \\\"Doom\\\" was really just the inspiration for the fish-person design.
What do you think? LovecraftLite or not?
