The Fresh Start merit isn\'t much use here; in order to avoid getting on the wrong side of the Unholy Spendor spam, you have to get ahead of Dzarumazh in the initiative order on the first turn, not the second. (Otherwise he simply stunlocks you all for a turn, pops Dragon\'s Fury for two extra actions, and then tears half your party into tiny giblets. And then on the next turn, eats the other half.) As for \'having a high initiative\': Dzarumazh\'s base initiative is \'\'fourteen\'\'. So if you have dexterity 5, composure 5, and maximum levels of the Fast Reflexes merit, you still have... somewhat less than even odds. And that\'s if you min-maxed to the limit.
