Perhaps we should add the Remington New Model Army/Navy revolver to the list? It was used by the Union Army after the Colt factory burned down, and after that several soldiers and officers would spend their own money to get them; they were that good. The Remington New Model was the first revolver to have a frame build around the cilinder, which made the gun significantly more durable than the competitors. Also, it had the very cool and practical feature of being able to switch out a spend cilinder for a loaded one in a matter of seconds, which was a lot easier than reloading the cilinder, even after the introduction of metal cartridges. It had been used in several westerns, like in Pale Rider (wielded by the Preacher) and \'\'The Good, The Bad And The Ugly\'\'(wielded by Angel Eyes).
