I looked up the scene you\\\'re talking about -- Bronn explicitly only manages to hurt Egen when he hits him at his elbow joint and when he stabs him though a shoulder joint while he\\\'s pinned to the floor. All his other hits leave \\\"bright shiny gashes\\\" across the surface of the stel. Egen \\\'\\\'does\\\'\\\' bull rush him and nearly defeats him in the process.

{There also an implication that it isn\\\'t just the armour that\\\'s encumbering Egen, but his concept of fighting \\\"honourably\\\" -- the closest he comes to winning is when he tosses this aside and just throws his weight at his opponent.)

But at any rate, the point is that that trope isn\\\'t a LicenseToWhine about the realism or lack of it in the author\\\'s portrayal of medieval armour.
