As the [[http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/discussion.php?id=t4uklpbmrqtlfweokxgzjj3v original creator]] of the page, I thought I might weigh in, both to present the YKTTW with the concerns it had at the time, and my own opinion now.

This \'\'is\'\' a wiki, not their \'offspring\'. You\'re going to have to explain more why cataloging things is in any way sociopathic, freaky, or evil or we\'re going to need to take a look at all the taxonomists, dictionary makers, and the Encyclopedia Britannica people. And this would be a seriously screwed up world if it was offensive to, say, rewrite code instead of adding to it, or tearing down buildings and making new ones was forbidden.

As an aside, I\'ve always hated the term natter, because too often I\'ve seen it used as \'stuff I don\'t like\' Its meaning is not evident, blocking out casual editors (ironic considering the many pages being renamed away from referring to characters and such). Yet it\'s become an ingrained term in the wiki, to the point of having a dedicated button for each history entry that sends an uneditable message. I\'m glad it\'s only mentioned once on this page, at the end. There\'s other more useful terms, like ThreadMode, WallOfText or... RepairDontRespond.

Well there\\\'s 45 minutes gone. Maybe this should be on the forum, so I can avoid it...
