That reasoning does not hold up seeing how the theatrical cut of \'\'Film/JusticeLeague2017\'\' helmed by Whedon was a critical and commercial failure (further compounded by the release of a [[Film/ZackSnydersJusticeLeague better-received recut without Whedon\'s involvement]]) that effectively halted his momentum, along with the allegations of his unsavory behavior. Additionally, [[Series/TheNevers he has also created a TV series]] that has received lackluster reception, and he would only write two episodes of it before resigning over his controversies.
