I don\'t really think anything of this trope. Especially as a kid I didn\'t. I mean, is the burp supposed to imply the prey was digested? I mean, come on. When you eat something, it\'s not dissolved instantly. It takes a good five minutes or so, giving the victim plenty of time to escape. Then again, [[ArtsticLicenseBiology biological functions are sometimes sped up in media]]. Like lizard tails instantly growing back, or eggs instantly hatching after being laid, so I guess digestion is no exception. But still.
