Not really he was on top for four...in Season 5, he drops the ball on Ramsay, his business is trashed by the Sparrows, and Olenna gives him a death threat. Season 6, he's DemotedToExtra, in Season 7, he goes out like a chump, crying like a little girl. And even then Littlefinger at the start of Season 2, he threatens Cersei and nearly gets killed by her, for doing something stupid.

Not sure how that is an example of being a MagnificentBastard because that's literally the obvious solution available to him. And crowning Renly would have been absurd as Robb Stark mentions at the end of Season 1. Ned Stark fell because he told Cersei. That's repeatedly told us, at the end of Season 1 in the scene with Varys in the prison, it's told again in Season 2 between Cersei and Tyrion, and so on. And Ned told Cersei because he WouldNotHurtAChild. And I would question anyone who thinks that doing otherwise is an example of cunning and planning.

If you disallow my evidence for my argument than you are not actually countering it.

The fact is that Ned meets the necessary conditions for this trope.

-- He hid a secret so well that it fell BeneathSuspicion.

-- He was smart and savvy to do so. i.e. it happens entirely on his own, by his own skill, and guile.

-- Nobody doubted it despite the fact that it looked sketchy to someone who knew his character (Stannis)

-- And he was savvy about it that he did indulge in stealth gloating about it to Robert.

So that makes him fit some of the conditions. And all the entries only meet some of the conditions as well. The point is not whether you agree with the entry or not, the point is whether it fits.
