A Scrappy requires more then a few people hating him. It's a large amount of fans hating them without [[BaseBreakingCharacter notable detraction]]. The Mewtwo from the [[Anime/PokemonGenesectAndTheLegendAwakened 16th movie]] is an unequivocal Scrappy since it was meant to have lasting effect on Mewtwo's character, only for those efforts to be quickly reversed. If Ash is a Scrappy, his entry must explain why a show were he is the main character has remind popular enough to run 20 years if that many fans hate it. (his BW characterization could easily qualify since for exaggerating his negatives such that XY put a lot of effort into reversing that.)
