Let me just try to get a consensus on this. At what point does this episode stop being funny for most? It starts out as a kind of boring Mighty Ducks parody, then Randy has his thing about thinking Stan is trying to make up for his loss from when he was 3, which he doesn't remember so he's not embarrassed nor would he be, then when the team the kids were going to play don't show up, they play a group of grown adults & get their asses beat.

For me, I used to think this episode got really shitty at the end, but upon reevaluation, the whole episode kinda seems dead on arrival, doesn't it? Think about it, what was the objective for this episode? It's not exactly brimming with any kind of social satire, it just seems to be some weird depressed parody of Mighty Ducks then adds in elements of Miracle on Ice, or some other stereotypical sports film, at the end. Combine that with the fact that Stan doesn't wanna coach the kids' hockey team, Randy being absolutely retarded, the kids getting the shit beaten out of them by fully grown adults, then one of the kids dying of cancer when he sees his former team lose. Are we talking South Park, or Family Guy here with the amount of depressingly forced moments in this episode with an ending so downer that it makes you weep for humanity? I mean, seriously, South Park's usually more subtly, more smart, & more funny with its pop culture parodies than this. Plus, they usually have actually legitimately decent endings. If Matt & Trey actually think the ending is a good one, but the rest sucks, what the fuck kind of deranged minds are we talking here? If the little kids were assholes, I think we'd all be able to swallow the ending better, but the ending is way too awful, mean, & bad in this already depressing episode to possibly be enjoyed by anyone. Am I alone here?
