As I said, her \\\"intention\\\" is irrelevant in regards to the ludo-narrative.

[[quoteblock]]She didn\\\'t join BLADE to fight, she did it so Rock would have a home. So long as she\\\'s part of the division, he\\\'s covered by their law. Notice, she joined Prospector - a non-combat faction. Also notice that Vandham sent her on a errand, rather than send her to hunt Indigens. What does that tell you?[[/quoteblock]]\\\\

Uh, for one thing it tells me that fighting is going to be part of her job because, unlike a Mediator or an Outfitter, her job doesn\\\'t keep her at home base. She\\\'s in a division that isn\\\'t combat-\\\'\\\'focused\\\'\\\', but that doesn\\\'t mean it\\\'s combat-\\\'\\\'exclusive\\\'\\\'.

You\\\'re using a FalseDichotomy here.

[[quoteblock]]That\\\'s entirely the point with Hope\\\'s character. The \\\"A False Hope\\\" affinity mission hangs a massive lampshade on it, because it\\\'s the reason Ornella grew fed up with her and betrayed her.

Hope doesn\\\'t have to fight. No one expects her to. It\\\'s a choice she made due to her undying need to try to solve every problem, herself.[[/quoteblock]]

Again, not the POINT. Hope \\\'\\\'chose\\\'\\\' to do it because SHE (the most benevolent person in the story) felt that being able to help in any way EXCEPT fighting wasn\\\'t enough. She CHOSE to fight because she didn\\\'t feel strong enough to be of help otherwise.

[[quoteblock]]You think everything is about collectivism, rather than different people being better suited for different tasks.[[/quoteblock]]

\\\'\\\'\\\'THAT IS WHAT COLLECTIVISM \\\'\\\'IS!!\\\'\\\'\\\'\\\'\\\'

The entire point to a (vertical) collectivist society is that some people are \\\"better suited\\\" towards certain things, and thus people need to work together. Everyone has a role to play. That is exactly what Japanese society is like, and Japanese society is an extreme version of a collective.

Jeebus cripes...

[[quoteblock]]No they didn\\\'t. All they said was, they had him wrong and that he wasn\\\'t as much of a jerk as they thought.[[/quoteblock]]

Which is a compliment.

They ALSO say \\\"Cheers to you sir\\\", call him a \\\"good friend\\\", and say he\\\'s a \\\"softie\\\".

Again, this is just semantics.

In that case, I suppose Braveheart, since it took place in Medieval Scotland, wasn\\\'t an allegory for American civil liberties?
