I don't think "kid" needs to be taken literally in this case. Many of the examples on that page are adults with a leash. The point is that if the monster on the other side of the leash were to escape or attack, its handler would be physically no match for it.

There is also Hijacking Cthulhu.
A character creates the only means of controlling an otherwise extremely powerful and reckless character that would otherwise be berserk—think Kid with the Leash but an adult.
