  1. The default rule should be to discard them. Someone would have to make a damned convincing reason otherwise.
  2. I'm not aware of any ruling in this regard. It makes sense: listing tropes where things don't happen is just silly unless the converse is omnipresent, and even then it has to be defined enough for people to observe it as a distinct phenomenon.

Is there nothing in the forums about cleaning up aversion-only tropes? Maybe that should be added into Projects.

"Thing doesn't happen" is different than "stereotype isn't used." Just because it's defined in the negative does not mean it is defined by something not happening.

And at least sometimes something that seems like an "aversion-only" trope is (or can be reworked as) a positive trope. For example, there's the trope Nipple and Dimed, which may at first seem like "women's nipples are never shown on TV", but is actually written as "The creators take active measures to avoid showing female nipples".

EDITED: That also makes it possible to add both straight examples ("the show did this to avoid showing...") as well as aversions (cases where female frontal nudity is shown).
