Never mind, I found it myself. It’s Girlosophy: A Soul Survival Kit by Anthea Paul. It was published in 2001.
I’m thinking of a book that was probably published around the year 2000. It featured a bunch of brightly-colored photos of girls of different races and ethnicities. There were quotes or bits of advice interspersed amongst the photos. The book had a “girl power”/self-confidence theme. The author might have been named something like Althea, Alethea, or Aletheia (but I might be thinking of a different book).
