Mostly what I've seen is Ep # Pt 1 and Ep # Pt 2, unless the series itself uses a different method

You're talking about "T.K.O.", right? That was a half hour special, not a two-parter.

it's episodes 25 and 26 even if it debuted as a half hour special.

The important thing is that the episode after is episode 27.

As in series orders typically go by multiples of 13 (26, 39, 52 etc) a 2 part special gets you your 26 episodes for the first half of season 1
